Why Do You Keep Getting Sick?
Are you the type of person that fears sickness? Do you feel yourself getting nervous when winter draws near, or when you hear someone close to you cough?
Personally, I don’t live in fear of getting sick. I feel just as healthy in the middle of winter as I do in the peak of summer. It is possible to take control of life and not experience sickness that a lot of people experience. I haven’t been sick for over two years. Last time I was sick I had gastro and even before then I don’t remember having a cold, the flu or any congestion issues. And I have no other health problems at nearly 50 years old.
This is not an accident or luck. I have put in place tools and techniques to support my physical health. Of course I practice the usual prevention habits that everybody knows - healthy eating, sleeping 8 hours, drinking water, avoiding smoking or consuming alcohol. In general I take pride in looking after my body.
But everybody knows these things are important. You might be thinking, “Surely you didn’t write this just to tell me to eat all my servings of vegetables and fruit?” And you’re right. I am here to tell you there is another reason you keep getting that same bout of sickness every year.
Our emotions are linked so closely to our physical health. When one suffers, often the other follows. The first thing I do when my clients show symptoms of sickness is see if there are any emotional causes behind the physical ailment. And more often than not, releasing these emotions is enough to stop the cycle of physical and emotional turmoil.
